Voltage Depression ("Memory Effect")
- Voltage depression is a scientifically measurable characteristic
of all batteries, however, Ni-Cd batteries demonstrate particularly
acute sensitivity.
- Voltage depression from repeated partial discharge can be reversed
through
charge cycling (see figure below).
- A properly designed application with Ni-MH batteries will result
in neither
permanent performance loss nor perceivable temporary capacity
decreases from this characteristic.
